About the Author

Melissa D’Arabian was a corporate finance executive before becoming the host of Food Network’s Ten Dollar Dinners and Cooking Channel’s Drop 5 Lbs with Good Housekeeping. She also developed the series The Picky Eaters Project, serves as lead judge on Guy’s Grocery Games, and is the author of the New York Times bestselling cookbook Ten Dollar Dinners. Melissa has an MBA from Georgetown University, and lives with her husband and their four daughters in San Diego.

My Thoughts

This is a beautiful, simple, cookbook that will have you reaching for your copy time and again.  The ingredients can easily be found in a larger supermarket and all of these recipes are economical for your budget.

The author includes beautiful photos, lists of pantry must-haves, ways to cut your grocery budget yet provide healthy meals for your family, and ways to smart indulgence.  I appreciate her views on buying local and cooking around what is in season. 

All recipes have step by step instruction, nutritional information, servings per recipe, prep time, and cooking time.  Each recipe I have made thus far has been flavorful and delicious.  I believe you and your family will enjoy this cookbook for many meals to come.
